Core Strategy
The joint Christchurch and East Dorset Core Strategy will set out the broad development strategy for the councils until 2028, and will contain the main vision, objectives and planning policies to make the strategy happen. It will set targets for the provision of new housing and employment for a period up to 2028, as well as setting out general policies in relation to provision of facilities, transport, and protection of natural and historic features. All of the other Local Development Documents within the Local Development Framework will have to conform to it.
Core Strategy Pre-Submission
The Core Strategy Pre-Submission consultation commences on 2 April 2012 and lasts for 12 weeks until 25 June 2012. The document is available below to view and make representations on during this public consultation period. Further information on the Christchurch and East Dorset Core Strategy is available including a series of background papers, supporting assessments and appraisals, an infrastructure delivery plan and evidence studies that have been produced to accompany the Pre-Submission document.
Core Strategy Options for Consideration
The previous public consultation period in the preparation of the Christchurch and East Dorset Core Strategy was the Core Strategy Options for Consideration. The document and comments received during the 15 week consultation period that ended on the 14 January 2011 are also available to view. Please select 'Core Strategy Options for Consideration' from the list of documents below. The document invited comments on a number of proposed themed options, many of which are common to both areas and as well as specific sections relating to areas within Christchurch or East Dorset. Further information on this stage of the Core Strategy's preparation and a series of background papers, supporting assessments and appraisals that were produced to accompany the document are still available.
Tips for commenting on-line
- To view and make your comments on the Core Strategy Pre-Submission, or any other documents available for consultation, click on the document's name in the tab below and log in.
- If you have been sent an email, leaflet or letter from us you are already on the database and should have previously received registration details. Don’t worry if you have forgotten these details, contact us and we will be able to send you a new password. If you re-register you may in the future receive emails/letters in duplicate
- To make a comment on a paragraph or policy just click on ‘Add Comment’
- If you wish to comment on a specific paragraph but there is no ‘Add Comments’ tab attached to that paragraph add your comments to the beginning of the section
- As you make each comment press submit – each comment is submitted individually and will be acknowledged
- You can save your comments and come back to them later. To find comments made click on ‘My Account’, but don’t forget to submit them before the end of the consultation period
- It is possible to print out the comments you submit to us for your records, however you can always access your account and check the comments you have made to any consultation
